STYLE GURU STYLE: Romping Around

This year I have seen some truly amazing runway shows, but one that I can’t get out of my head is Band of Outsiders spring 2015 ready-to-wear fashion show. The collection is perfect for a cool, classy look. The show focuses on light materials with a pale color palette. I love these designs because even if you’re as fair skinned as me, they will not wash you out. You can expect a lot of cotton, toile de jouy and of course seersucker. Whether vacationing on the coast, or kicking back in a small hometown for the summer, Band of Outsiders spring 2015 is the style to try out.

I started my look with a basic woven romper. Finding a great romper can be challenging at times (I for one have had my fair share of fitting rooms freak-outs). But once you find that special number that fits like a charm, it’ll become one of your summer must-haves. This romper is a true beach-goer because of the fabric, it’s just so airy and light. Another bonus of the classic romper is ease. Similar to dresses, rompers can be a whole outfit in one piece. It creates different depths without layers. My look is finished off with some short gladiator sandals, also inspired by Band of Outsiders, and a lovely pair of tortoise shell sunglasses. I’ve been seeing gladiator sandals mixed with so many different looks this season, and I am loving it. Who knew a little bohemian could compliment a classy look so well?
