STYLE GURU STYLE: On the Greener Side

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, the season of trendy jackets, denim and of course an array of must-have ankle boots. Even though I live in the state of perpetual heat, you would never know by the looks of my closet. This time of year allows me to break out my darker side and this season I’m all about rockin’ the shades of green. I was inspired by the Saint-Toyko fall 2015 collection. These grunge pieces combine neutral tones and different textures to create a sleek and smooth outfit.

I decide to try to recreate the runway pieces by combining different textures of ripped denim with a sleek polyester top and suede ankle boots. My style tends to have more edge which correlates with the outfits in the lookbook, so I wanted to take the high fashion vibe down a notch and translate it into a typical daytime outfit.

The best part about this look is that it can emulate the runway with more textures, such as adding a leather or fringed jacket or tying a patterned flannel around the waist to break up the color scheme. The entire Saint-Toyko collection revolved around boots, which is the staple of fall footwear. Since I’m a lover of any and all ankle boots, my look could easily look more edgy with the inclusion of a pair of tan, suede boots.

Let’s be honest, fall is the time to experiment with your closet. Play around with textures, colors and don’t be afraid to break out your inner punk-rock child.

Get My Look: 1. Shades of green T-shirt. 2. Ripped black denim. 3. Suede ankle boots.
