STYLE GURU STYLE: Not Your Boyfriend’s Fit

As a college student first and a Fashionista second, I’ve realized that comfort is necessary—but sometimes it’s a bit of a challenge to make style and comfort go hand in hand. Luckily, I’m already the definition of a jean and T-shirt type of girl, so this isn’t a difficult task to master. That’s why 6397’s pre-fall 2015 collection has the key to my heart. There are arrangements of relaxed fitting tops, jeans and sneakers—my usual and everyday ensemble.

My wardrobe consists of a lot of basic pieces that are extremely easy to put together in various ways. My oversized shirt from H&M is a little different from the every day white T-shirt; it has a shorter front and a longer back. My jeans have a relaxed leg, giving room around the ankles for my sneakers to gain some attention too. Although the base of this outfit is pretty relaxed, topping it all off with one slightly form-fitting piece and an oversized accessory—my leather jacket and handbag—help give the entire outfit a little sprinkle of girly flare.

I don’t usually incorporate much color into my wardrobe, but with spring approaching, I wanted to give it a try…again. For someone who is basically afraid of anything light, other than white, I took a page from this line and decided to play around with olive, a close family friend to my neutrals. I may even end up branching out to the deep reds, navy and blue. Stay tuned!

Varying lengths and fits in 6397’s collection reminded me that there isn’t a standard silhouette for women’s fashion and that relaxed casual wear is extremely fashionable too.
