STYLE GURU STYLE: Neutral Metallic

My look was inspired by Rodarte’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. Rodarte’s collection left me in awe. The collection is filled with elegant designs that have been taken to a whole new level of beauty with simple details. Metallics, sparkles and lace have been added on to everyday dresses, tops and pants. The collection also contains lots of blacks, whites and burgundies. To sum it up, it was basically everything that I love.

My favorite details from the show were the metallic scarves, so I knew I had to incorporate a metallic scarf into my outfit. I normally associate metallics with dressy outfits, but in the collection, metallics are worn in an effortless and slightly casual way. I found a light gold colored metallic scarf, and then worked the rest of my outfit around it.

Naturally, the first thing I did was pull a black dress out of my closet. Black dresses are always the first thing on my mind when picking out an outfit. This is probably because I have so many of them, and they are also always perfect for any occasion. I then decided to wear a pair of black ankle boots and a black wool hat to give the look my own personal touch. Unfortunately for me, Florida is still hot, so I opted out on the lace tights. But as soon as it gets a little cooler, I plan on adding lace tights to this outfit, which will really give it a Rodarte-inspired feel and look.

Just find a beautiful metallic scarf, and then pair it with a neutral colored and simple outfit. The scarf will add the spark that was missing!
