STYLE GURU STYLE: Move Over Boys

Girlfriend jeans are the perfect hybrid between the comfort of boyfriend jeans and the chicness of skinny jeans. Add some lived in distressed holes and you’ve got yourself a pair of denim that will make any outfit a winner. I find them to be so diverse when it comes to outfits and can really compliment any style, whether you’re into ’90s grunge or you’re more of a comfort queen.

When I first came upon the style of boyfriend jeans, I had a rough time finding a pair that flattered my figure. After trying on several styles from multiple brands and hating how they looked, I felt defeated. I said to myself, “This has to be one of those trends that only celebrities can pull off,” But while on my excursion to find that perfect pair, I came across girlfriend jeans, and realized I had found the happy medium I had been looking for.

I styled my girlfriend jeans with a loose-fitting tank top and a charcoal colored bralette for a more casual, easy going look. To give my outfit a little more shape and a pop color, I tied a red and blue flannel around my waist. Taking just a couple of basics from your wardrobe and adding them together can make your look go from bland to the center of attention. This outfit may be more of a summer look, but feel free to wear a cute sweater instead of a tank top to make this more appropriate for the cold.
