STYLE GURU STYLE: Miss Minimalist

I consider myself to be fairly minimalistic when it comes to my personal style. I often opt for the casual-chic look. Most of the time, I rock black skinny jeans, a striped shirt and my favorite ankle booties. The J.Crew spring 2015 ready-to-wear line took my love for minimalist style to a whole new level.

J.Crew never disappoints when it comes to fashion, and the spring line was effortlessly appealing. The ready-to-wear collection featured three key trends—chambray, stripes and neutral tones. Chambray was styled over several looks throughout the show, creating the perfect accent of blue with each ensemble. Stripes were another timeless trend I picked out of the spring collection. J.Crew does an amazing job of keeping stripes fun and fresh, incorporating different color schemes and patterns into the line. Neutral tones were running wild through the spring show, with white and creams in almost every look. White has been very on-trend lately, and whether it’s a full head to toe look or even just a hint, definitely find a way to incorporate white into your summer wardrobe.

It was really hard choosing just one look, so instead, I threw together an outfit that highlighted each major trend from the spring collection. I started with a striped shirt and paired it with some black skinny jeans. A deep blue chambray shirt was the perfect layer to accentuate the stripes underneath. For a fresh and fun feel, I rocked my white high-tops instead of strappy heels. Finally, to give my outfit that extra bit of flair, I added gold midi rings, sunglasses and a wool hat. J.Crew put together three major trends and worked them into one amazing line this season, creating the ultimate summer looks. If you’re loving this look as much as I do, I’ve selected some items from J.Crew to get you started. Enjoy!
