STYLE GURU STYLE: Minimal is Chic

Having trouble finding what to wear this fall? Grab that little black dress from the back of your closet, throw on the perfect shoes, grab your winter coat and you’re all set! Like the great Karl Lagerfeld once said, “One is never over-dressed or underdressed with a Little Black Dress.”

Taking inspiration from the Vera Wang fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection, I collectively combined my ribbed knit black dress (something you see very frequently in Wang’s show) with my black Converse All-Stars and my black peacoat to mimic the looks from Wang’s show. Overall, I love how she kept everything simple with very minimalistic pieces. After looking back at her past shows, I learned that that is always her go-to. She loves to keep it chic and minimalistic.

With any minimalistic piece like a little black dress, you always have to make it our own so you can stand out through the crowd. In this outfit, which consisted of all minimalistic pieces, my objective was to take it from runway to something for everyday wear. I paired my ribbed knit dress with my wool peacoat to add some fall textures. As well all know, nobody likes to walk in heels all day, so I threw on my classic black Converse All-Stars. To add another element to the street look, I threw on my black baseball cap. Collectively, these pieces created the perfect fall ensemble for any occasion.

Get My Look: 1. Ribbed knit dress. 2. Black peacoat. 3. Converse All-Stars.
