STYLE GURU STYLE: Magenta Madness

Bright colors and simple dresses have always had a strong presence in my wardrobe. Finding these two details combined into one article of clothing makes me excited. Seeing bright dresses as a fall trend makes me easily over-excited, because who wouldn’t love wearing vibrant colors year-round?

Giorgio Armani’s fall 2015 couture show called “Shocking” immediately grabbed my attention, with vibrant blues and eye-catching pinks and magentas. The colors were completely unexpected for a fall collection and weren’t only made unique for their debut season, but also the materials and accessories they were worn with. The colors weren’t worn with soft, frilly outfits but with edgy, strong elements. Models featured short black hair and sharp makeup.

This collection is something I wanted to translate in a more ready-to-wear style. I loved the minimalism of this simple, cotton dress from Forever 21. With something as girly and feminine as a skater dress, I wanted to make sure I didn’t lose the edginess factor Armani was able to bring to the table. Strong pieces like a gold statement necklace are the perfect liaisons between the frilly and the edgy. To bring the whole outfit together, I put on a pair of black ankle boots, one of my favorite fall staples. My favorite part of these boots? I found them at Target for just $35 dollars!

Between the eye-catching colors and black ankle boots, I feel successfully prepared for the beginning of fall, when the weather is cool in the morning and 80 degrees by the afternoon. I could easily add a dark cardigan or hat if I want to dress it up, but it’s comfortable enough to wear while taking on Cardiac Hill here at UTC.

Add some fun to your fall wardrobe with bright colors and edgy accessories!
