Whether you are single or have a special someone to celebrate with, Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to dress up a little more than usual. I mean, if you love clothes as much as I do, you live for the days where you can dress up really cute and girly. One of my favorite things about Valentine’s Day is the color scheme of the holiday which includes pinks, reds, and whites. You don’t really get to see people wear these colors very often throughout the year, especially if you live in New York where everyone’s year-round go-to colors are black and neutrals. Therefore, when Valentine’s Day comes around, it is such a treat to see people adding a little more color to their looks. Though pinks and reds can look a little extravagant in an outfit, if worn the right way, you can come up with a very lovely and captivating outfit.
This year, I really wanted to wear something that gave out Valentine’s Day vibes but wouldn’t be too flamboyant and would still remain true to my style. So, after looking for some inspiration, I came up with this lovely look. I knew I definitely wanted to wear red; I mean it is the color of love after all. So, the first thing that came to mind were my red rights, which happen to be one of my favorite items of clothing. Because I wanted the red to be the focal point, I decided to keep the other colors in my outfit on the neutral side. I decided to wear a flowy gray skirt that happened to have hearts all over it which was perfect for the occasion. To go with the skirt, I picked out my favorite cream ribbed sweater. For shoes, I went with my go-to chelsea boots which go with a lot of my outfits. Finally, I wanted to do something cute with my hair, so I added a red bandana to tie everything together, as it went perfectly with the red tights.
Overall, I felt this look was very feminine and it was perfect for Valentine’s Day. It was somewhat subtle, but you could still tell the occasion the look was worn for.
