STYLE GURU STYLE: Living in Lace

Recently, I have not been able to get enough of Elizabeth & James resort 2017 runway show. The show focused on soft colors and elegant textures. The collection was understated and dramatic at the same time. The show featured mostly neutral colors using black and white to add some edge to the pieces. This collection is very relatable to my style which allows me to use the inspiration to relate back to my own wardrobe. With slim fitting pieces and longer hem lines, every look was classy. I believe that this is a show that everyone can relate to.

In summer, my go-to style is effortless. I love wearing light and flowy pieces that allow me to stay cool and move around. While I love wearing bright colors occasionally, I feel most confident in neutrals. I love mixing different shades of neutrals to add dimension to an outfit without it looking cluttered with too many colors.

For this outfit I paired a pair of gap ankle jeans with a flowy off-the-shoulder lace top from one of my favorite local boutiques. I think that it is important to balance a loose-fitting top with a tighter bottom so that the body shape is not lost. I paired my look with simple dangle earrings, my go-to white wedges, and my tan Tory Burch cross-body bag. I wore this outfit to dinner and a concert—it was perfect! I was able to stay cool while still show my style.

Get My Look: 1. Lace top. 2. A pair of ankle jeans. 3. A cross-body bag. 4. A cute pair of wedges.
