STYLE GURU STYLE: Little Black Something

As most of you Fashionistas/os already know, a monochromatic black outfit has been a staple in the fashion world for quite some time. Coco Chanel, founder of the brand Chanel, popularized this style with her little black dress (LBD). Before Chanel, women’s fashion was restricted by the rules of society, but who likes to play by the rules? Women’s style has grown and evolved, but one thing that stayed true was the little black dress. To this day, the LBD is a fashion choice that one simply can’t go wrong with. It is classic, simple and always in style. Chanel stays true to their classic styles in their spring 2016 couture collection featuring many black dresses. The designer evolved these pieces to match the trends on today’s runway by adding little embellishments to bring the garment to life.

Taking inspiration from Chanel, I’ve created my own personal rule that you can never go wrong with a little black something. An outfit as effortless as black jeans, a matching black T-shirt and a chunky necklace will always be in style. In this look, I’ve reinvented the LBD with my favorite black romper. Though Chanel stays true to the all black theme throughout her entire look, I have always been one to add a pop of color. In fact, my favorite part about a black garment is that it looks great paired with almost every color! This look is so easy and perfect for those days where you just don’t know what to wear.

Get My Look: 1. A simple black romper. 2. White chunky sandals. 3. A bright handbag.
