STYLE GURU STYLE: Let it Rip

Let it rip, let it fly! I hope you all caught my Dixie Chicks reference. Summer is over even though it’s still reaching the 90s in Alabama. With school and football season starting up, it’s definitely one of the busiest times of the year. Whether you’re meeting friends for dinner or out running errands, this distressed trend is for you.

First off I must say it is kind of weird that holes in your clothes is a fashion statement but, I love it! With that being said don’t throw away those T-shirts with holes just yet! This look is super casual, cute and easy. There are tons of DIYs on Pinterest that will have you cutting up all of your T-shirts. (Okay… maybe not the best idea.) Check out supermodels Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner for some distressed T-shirt inspo. If you don’t feel like you’re the crafty type then shops like ASOS and Free People will have your fix.

With fall arriving, it’s time to retire the denim cutoffs and move on to distressed denim. These distressed boyfriend jeans are my favorite pants ever! Despite the strange looks from the older crowd, I could seriously wear them every day. I purchased these a few years ago at Nasty Gal. They have the greatest selection of colors, styles, and well, holes. For all of you thrifty Fashionistas/os there are also tons of DIYs on Pinterest from cutting up your jeans a little on the knees to completely ripping them up.

I accessorized this relaxed look with a bold choker. Side note—I am ecstatic that everyone is about the choker trend. I know you’ve all been wondering about the amazing choker that I’m wearing. I think this adds a spunky statement to such a casual outfit.

The next time you’re on the go to work, meetings or checking off the grocery list, throw on those distressed jeans T-shirt and add a fun necklace for an easy going and comfy but also stylish look.
