STYLE GURU STYLE: Keeping Up With Katie

Keeping up with the newest trends can be like Keeping Up With The Kardashians—hard. But as I was browsing a few of the spring 2015 ready-to-wear collections, Marco de Vincenzo stood out to me with his bold colors and fun fabrics. Although I wish I could replicate his beautiful fringe jackets and dresses, I went with the more street style of Look seven.

Right when I saw this ensemble I thought of none other than Kim Kardashian. She always rocks the long bodycon skirt with a crop top and heels. Then I looked closer and saw it was actually a dress with different a color layering underneath, but that didn’t stop me from going with my original idea of a long skirt and crop top. I loved the color of the lower half of the dress and put on this blue, tweed-like skirt I scrounged up from a thrift store on 48th street. Tweed is also something that has been hitting the runways a lot, and I could not be more happy. I am absolutely in love with tweed! To keep up with the texture of the dress I paired a simple white, ribbed tank top with the skirt to finish off this easy but fashionable look. The best things about this look are its simplicity, and how it can always be transformed with a bolder print on the skirt or patterned top. Lastly, I didn’t have heels to match the look from the runway but I figured nude heels go with anything. I wrapped up my outfit and hit the streets looking like Kim K (just looking for my Kanye—anyone?). The rest of this collection was absolutely beautiful, and I cannot wait to try out the jacket and skirt look next.

Get My Look: 1. Knee length skirt. 2. Crop top. 3. Nude heels.
