STYLE GURU STYLE: Just Faux Fun

This fall season, I’ve been inspired by fur accent pieces, such as the majorly popular fur stoles featured in runway shows by designers such as Marc Jacobs, Prabal Gurung and my personal favorite, Phillip Lim. Fur accent pieces, such as the ones featured on these runways, stole the show at numerous New York Fashion Week events and worked amazingly to enhance each and every look I saw them paired with.

Although I am interested in someday investing in a fur stole, it is not currently part of my wardrobe. Until that day, I am interpreting this runway trend into a look that fits within my current closet. Fur accent pieces are sold at countless retailers around this time of year, so it’s easy to find one, or a few, that work with your wardrobe and style.

Fur pieces, such as my fur vest, can help accent any basic fall or winter look. I started this outfit with a simple pair of jeans and a black long sleeved shirt. The fur vest adds an interesting and fun element to the look, and as a plus is soft and comfortable on this chilly fall day. Since the weather is still pretty mild, opting for a vest instead of a full coat provides me with just the right amount of warmth. I topped the look off with some classic black boots and sunglasses and was ready for the day.

Get My Look: 1. Classic dark wash jeans. 2. Black shirt. 3. Fur vest.
