STYLE GURU STYLE: Gypsy in Disguise

If I woke up tomorrow and my close was filled with the pieces from Rebecca Minkoff’s fall 2015 collection, I could say my life was compete. Her grungy-boho line is everything I want in life. The boots with fringe and bell-sleeved tops, are totally up my alley. Due to the fact that I am a hippie at heart, I was excited to see Minkoff’s spin on this trend.

Sadly we can’t go to festivals everyday, and wear those fascinating pieces. However, I there is a way to express your inner hipster. The answer is one piece in a basic color—in this case, a black bell-sleeved top.

With the summer approaching, bohemian/hipster/gypsy and hippie trends are coming back into style. Despite the fashion movement, some of us are naturally stuck in the ’60s and ’70s. I would love to wear tie-dye and bellbottom jeans everyday, but we are in the wrong decade.  However, thanks to one piece you will still be able to express your fashion sense, be trendy and reveal your inner hippie.

This cropped, bell-sleeved shirt is a great example. It is in black, going along with the grungy theme of Minkoff’s line. Also, it doesn’t automatically draw the eye to the piece, but it gives a gypsy-vibe. In almost every outfit, Minkoff added a cross-body bag, suggesting the hippie style. Every gypsy needs jewelry! However, just like Minkoff shows us, instead of hanging bells on our hips we can wear dainty bracelets, rings and necklaces.

This look is appropriate for many occasions. The colors make it very muted, but the fashion sense is pretty obvious. What’s perfect about this outfit is that once the weather gets warmer, you can switch the jeans to shorts, without altering anything else. Thank you Rebecca Minkoff, for giving us hippies inspiration!
