STYLE GURU STYLE: Game Set Match

The great thing about fashion is that you can find outfit inspiration from just about anywhere. For this look I turned to menswear for inspiration, proving that it isn’t just for the boys.

I am in love with Roberto Cavalli’s spring 2016 menswear line because of its edgy glam aesthetic. My outfit was inspired by look number two of the collection. Look two features a white leather suit paired with a zebra button-up.

My interpretation of this look came straight out of my closet and is a white pleather matching set featuring small cutouts. I am absolutely obsessed with matching sets, particularly for the spring and summer. First of all, they are super easy to wear since they already match. Secondly, they can easily be mixed and matched with other pieces from your wardrobe. Although matching sets are easy to wear, they are far from basic. They are clean, elevated and minimalistic, which are four things I’m all about. In addition, saving the best for last, Taylor Swift rocks matching sets all the time. Let’s be real, who doesn’t want to channel T-Swizzle’s style?

I expanded upon the minimalistic vibe from my matching set by pairing it with simple and all black accessories. I paired my matching set with a black bralette, black Panama hat and my favorite pair of wedges. I decided to forgo jewelry in order to keep the outfit minimalistic. To complement my look and add visual interest, I painted my nails black and paired my outfit with bold brows and black lipstick.

To quote the great Michael Scott, and a famous person, “Like a famous person once said, boys on the side. But I don’t. I disagree. I say, let’s hear it for the boys.”

Get My Look: 1. Matching set. 2. Black wedges. 3. Panama hat.
