STYLE GURU STYLE: Game Day Goals

Around this time of year, hockey fans are eating, breathing and playing hockey. Dressing up for a sports game can be a challenge to many, however it is really personal preference and what you feel comfortable in while cheering and chanting as your team takes home the win. I put together a quick and easy outfit any Fashionista can wear to a hockey game. The key to making this work is to have a hockey jersey. Whether it is a college hockey jersey or a NHL team jersey, it would be ideal to have something with the team’s logo or name on it. I was going to my university’s club hockey game, so I threw on a Kent State University hockey jersey. You can always wear your size, but personally, I am loving the oversized trend right now, so I went one size up when purchasing the jersey for a more relaxed fit. Plus, this leaves more room to layer up, as it may be quite chilly in the ice arena.

The jersey is the star of the show, but what do I wear for bottoms and shoes, you ask? Stick to the basics! A pair of distressed denim jeans or even simply some leggings like I did here would work perfectly. Converse, Vans, Nikes and many other tennis shoes are comfortable, but if you are looking to also look trendy, a pair of slip-on Chelsea boots easily spices up the look.

With an outfit like this, you can opt for a more subtle makeup look to keep the attention on your jersey. I went for my everyday winged eyeliner with a little bit of mascara on my top and bottom lashes. I added a little contour and highlight to add color and brighten up the face. Finally, I finished off the look with matte Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in the shade Ashton.
