STYLE GURU STYLE: Country Chic

If anyone knows a thing about me, they know that I am a true city girl at heart. I’m originally from the Chicago suburbs but I take any opportunity to go downtown that I can. Although I love my city, I am a complete sucker for country music. You either love it or hate it but to me, there is nothing better than the positive, southern vibes at a country music concert. The one struggle that I always come down to is what to wear. You could always gravitate towards a flannel, camo or cowgirl boots but then it makes it so much easier for you to blend into the rest of the crowd. Feeding into my online shopping addiction, I found the perfect outfit that gives you the perfect balance of western and class.

I wore this adorable romper to my sorority’s barn dance this fall. It is from my favorite online boutique ShopHopes that I would definitely recommend to any online shoppers like myself. (Free shipping on all orders, all the time—yes please!). The romper’s nude color is perfect because you can get away with wearing it in the summer or fall. It’s crochet embroidery gives it the perfect country edge. I chose complete my outfit with a pair of brown fringe booties, a great steal because you can always re-wear them with so many different outfits. You could also complete it with some cowgirl boots for the perfect country chic combination.

I decided to dress the look up a little bit more with some of my favorite accessories from Forever 21. A simple layered necklace can dress up any outfit without being too flashy and completely overdoing it. I am a huge fan of rings, I just hate breaking my bank buying the expensive, brand name ones. I lucked out by finding a pack of them from Forever 21 at a price all of us college Fashionistas can afford. Lastly, of course I cannot go anywhere without my Alex and Ani bracelets.

If you are not a fan of the country/western look like myself, this outfit is still a great fit for the wedding season, graduation parties and other concerts!
