STYLE GURU STYLE: Cool and Cozy

November has arrived and the fall semester is in full swing. Waking up to an annoying 6:30 a.m. alarm and having to look somewhat presentable for class can be the ultimate struggle on mornings when its 35 degrees out and your bed feels like a cloud of fluffy pillows. Sometimes all you want to do is jump into a pair of leggings and a giant fleece sweater to take on the day. In my opinion, there’s nothing wrong with that. In fact, my go-to fall outfit usually involves comfortable leggings and an oversized sweater. I am all about finding ways to dress comfortably and fashionably at the same time, which leads me to my outfit of the day.

For this look, I took a pretty simple lounging outfit, and turned it into something a little more chic. Instead of wearing my regular plain black leggings, I switched it up with my faux leather pair. These give the look a more edgy vibe. On a cold day like today, I would normally be wearing a giant hoodie, but my pearl gray turtleneck poncho is actually much more cozy. This is my favorite sweater because I feel like I’m wearing a blanket with pockets, and I honestly can’t think of a more perfect combination than that. To add a touch of sparkle to this late fall look, I accessorized with a ’20s-inspired beaded necklace and a dainty pearl bracelet. To finish off the outfit, I wore my favorite pair of black booties. Once I’m done with the day, you know I’ll be kicking those heels off and throwing on a pair of fuzzy slippers!
