STYLE GURU STYLE: Classically Simple

Junya Watanabe’s 2015 fall ready-to-wear show featured a lot of intricate yet simplified styles. This show was all about shapes and throughout the show many models sported a honeycomb poncho. The designer’s creations featured many different shapes and textures. “Fractals, Fibonacci numbers, and the Golden Ratio all seemed to come into play with the purity of shapes and the geometry of this collection,” Vogue writer Jo-Ann Furniss said. Yet with all these shapes the styles were still kept classically simple with the colors used and a majority of the show featured neutral colors such as white, black and brown.

I really loved the simplified looks with black slacks and a white button-up. So to take some inspiration from Junya Watanabe’s 2015 fall runway show, I choose a white, transparent button-up with texturized balls on it. I think the texturized balls really represent the geometric shapes that were used in the fall runway show. I then paired the button-up with my favorite black skinny jeans and some brown oxfords. I think this is a great way to translate such a high fashion show to your everyday wardrobe. I grabbed my back pack and was able to wear this to school on a nice breezy day.

I feel like any Fashionista/o could wear and feel super comfortable in an outfit such as this one. It was super simple to put together and had a high fashion edge to it.

Get My Look: 1. Brown oxford shoes. 2. White button-up. 3. Black pants.
