STYLE GURU STYLE: Busy Bee

As summer quickly approaches so do summer jobs. With all the opportunities that summer offers it’s hard to not become busy quickly. The textures and colors used in Giambattista Valli’s spring 2016 couture collection make for great inspiration for the perfect job interview outfit.  It was easy and comfortable to wear while I drove around town to the different places I had applied.

From Giambattista Valli’s collection, many of the looks contain high neck lines, skater style mini skirts, and textured fabric.  I used these elements as inspiration for my interview outfit.  Layering is a key component in my look.  I took inspiration from the high neck lines by putting a sleeveless button-up shirt underneath a short sleeve blouse. I buttoned the shirt up all the way.  The small flowers and stitching on the collar were a small detail of the look. The lace blouse I wore over top created a contrasting texture to the raised polka dotted pattern of the black and white skirt.

I paired this look with a cute pair of flats I got from ASOS. The bright color added a nice pop at my feet.  To top the look off, I added two of my favorite big rings.  They’re a cute accessory that didn’t overpower the rest of the look. Next time you’re going to a job interview try layering two solids with one print.  The combination of textures and color offers a fun twist on a professional outfit.
