STYLE GURU STYLE: Bohemian-Chic

Taking inspiration from the Elie Tahari fashion show, I combined a casual piece with a more formal dress. This 2016 resort collection embraced bohemian style and looser fitting clothing. In my opinion, boho style is embraced by free-spirited, individual and romantic Fashionistas. Boho style truly helps me display my personality and express it through my fashion choices.

In this particular look, I am wearing a white lace, Kimchi Blue dress. Even though lace has been around for over 300 years, it is still very much in style. A lace mini dress is feminine for any occasion, regardless of how formal it may be. For the daring Fashionista, this dress can be worn without a slip underneath. Instead of a slip, a bandeau and high waisted shorts can be worn, which would give the outfit a more edgy touch.

By throwing on a simple jean jacket, this look becomes not only more casual, but also more layered. Boho style is all about layering and accessorizing! But the pair of shoes you wear can really make or break your outfit.

With nude, Kenneth Cole wedges, this look is transformed into a more formal style. The simplicity of the jean jacket contradicts the dressy shoes, making this look wearable for any occasion. Bohemian style is unique, and anyone can pull it off. By taking a spin on Elie Tahari’s fashion show looks, my outfit conforms to my individual style.
