STYLE GURU STYLE: Back to Black

During the spring and summer seasons there were noticeable changes in my wardrobe. I strayed from my usual black and gray for several months and I wore color. If you knew me personally you’d understand that this is actually really strange for me to do. Neutrals, but black and white especially, have always been my go-to colors. I have since then gotten over my quick love affair with color and am back to my basics with the help of inspiration from Narcisco Rodriguez’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection.

Black is my favorite color to wear because I never get tired of it, and it’s always been a wonderfully flattering and sophisticated color. I firmly believe black is more than just a color in fashion, but rather a style in itself. This outfit was inspired by a slightly more structured jumpsuit from the collection, and the string details on mine reminded me of other pieces in the runway show.

This jumpsuit is from Zara, which is one of my favorite places to shop for going out pieces. I think that a black jumpsuit is a necessary staple in any wardrobe. It works for parties, going out and it if it leans on a more modest style, even class and work sometimes. I love that any black piece in my closet transitions seamlessly from day to night, and nothing makes me feel more put together. The beauty of wearing black means you can style it any way you want, with everything from delicate to elaborate accessories. My overall style is feminine and simple with some statement pieces thrown in, so I went with a gold necklace and for a pop of color, a purple holographic purse to style this look.

Get My Look: 1. A simple black jumpsuit. 2.  Any holographic purse. 3. A gold necklace.
