STYLE GURU STYLE: Athleisure in the City

The semester is coming to an end, so I thought it would be appropriate to feature myself in one of my favorite trends, athleisure, to close out my term here at CollegeFashionista until I can hopefully return in the fall.

My Mother’s Day Sunday was a busy day filled with lots of Pasadena traffic, errands, delicious vegan food from Real Food Daily, and, of course, my mother. It was a gloomy day in Pasadena, so I was inclined to wear head-to-toe black. With that being said, I had to throw on my favorite Victoria’s Secret high-waisted yoga pants to tackle my day in style and comfort. My favorite part about these pants are the convenient pockets. Despite the questionable price tag, the pockets alone make them worth it! Who else hates those annoying little excuses for pockets on conventional yoga pants that can barely even fit a credit card? I definitely do, so I was thankful for the angels (pun intended) at Victoria’s Secret for realizing every athletic girl’s struggle.

For my top, I paired a Victoria’s Secret black lace bralette with yet another Victoria’s Secret open back T-shirt, which I felt gave the outfit a cute addition to an otherwise basic athleisure look. I also had to pair my tried and true black Nike Roshe Runs. These sneakers have been everywhere with me, from music festivals to my occasional gym sessions, and they’re probably the most comfortable pair of Nikes I’ve ever owned. It’s sure time for a new pair! To accessorize, I topped off my second-day hair with a Kappa Delta hat that I received from my chapter at California State University San Bernardino, my much loved Louis Vuitton Neverfull, some simple cubic zirconia studs that I wear with absolutely everything, and my treasured Prada Baroque sunglasses!
