As of late, my favorite fashion item for the fall is anything that is functional and fashionable. This is why my look was inspired by the 3.1 Phillip Lim 2015 fall ready-to-wear Collection. You want to feel cozy through the colder months without looking sloppy and his designs communicate that idea well with the use of loose, comfortable garments that are still refined. His use of color, plaid and lace-up shoes as well as his comfortable and edgy aesthetic are things that I’m loving for this fall season. Lim executed this collection well.

To make this look my own, I decided on my favorite pair of high-waisted jeans for the bottom and a plaid poncho for the top. While I loved them, the pants and skirts in Lim’s collection are not anything I’d be able to wear on a daily basis. The same goes for the way he incorporated plaid into his collection, as I wouldn’t be very likely to wear a plaid dress or plaid pants. I also chose the poncho because it gives that “cozy yet refined” vibe that was featured throughout his collection.

Another thing I did to make this look my own was mixing the colors in a way I like and choosing my favorite pair of lace-up heels. Lim’s use of color throughout the collection was very beautiful but I chose the ones that I think suit me best; while I loved the shoes in the show, the ones I wore are definitely more my style.

Get My Look: 1. Plaid poncho. 2. High-waisted jeans. 3. Lace-up heels. 4. Crop top.
