STYLE GURU BIO: Treasure Bishop

Hey there, Fashionistas/os! I’m Treasure Bishop, a junior Public Relations student at Kennesaw State University. I ultimately wanted to major in something fashion related but I couldn’t find the right school for me so I thought of the next best thing, which was Communications. I say that because the topic is so broad that there is no limits in the Communications department. You can do whatever you want! So in the future, I hope to land a job with Teen Vogue doing something in the Public Relations field.

Ever since I was a young girl, I was always interested in fashion. If you go through my family photo albums, you will see millions of pictures of me playing dress-up or posing for the camera in a stylish outfit my parents dressed me in. Today, I often find myself helping friends and family find outfits for events or when I’m bored at home I might start piecing together outfits from my closet just for fun. I would describe my personal style as comfortable-chic. No matter the occasion, I’m all about being comfortable. So one day you might catch me on campus with a simple midi dress but I will dress it down with sneakers. At a more formal event, I might wear some nice wedges because we all know how painful heels are to wear all night!

As I developed my own sense of style, I learned that you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on clothes. There are lots of stores and online shops who have stylish clothes but are affordable at the same time because like the saying goes, “It’s not about what you wear, but how you wear it.” Overall, I’m so excited to be working with CollegeFashionista this fall as a Style Guru. For months I searched for tons of internships in the fashion field and just couldn’t seem to find any (I almost wanted to give up) and then that’s when CollegeFashionista came along. I love how they cater to college students (male and female) who have a sole interest in all things fashion related so I thought why not give it try? I applied and here I am! I hope you all enjoy my articles and don’t forget to RAD all the ones you like!
