STYLE GURU BIO: Tendrina Alexandre

Buenos dias Fashionistas/os! My name is Tendrina Alexandre and I am a rising Senior at the gorgeous University of Albany, double majoring in Communications and Journalism with a minor in Theater. My daily work on campus is a collection of the necessary steps needed to accomplish my ultimate goal: becoming a trusted entertainment reporter and/or fashion correspondent.

This is my third semester writing for CollegeFashionista, and I am pretty pumped about it! I have a love for writing, fashion and people, so CollegeFashionista has always felt like home to me. I’m excited to learn about you Fashionistas/os, and interact with you all via various platforms. One of my favorite things about this opportunity is that I get to expand my sense of style, and learn more about fashion through you guys! So be sure to keep in touch, I think it’s going to be a great semester!

A few things about myself: other than fashion and entertainment, I have a love for eating exotic foods, traveling to exotic places and figure skating on ice. Recently, a whole ton of my money has gone towards feeding a beauty, bag and shoe obsession I wasn’t aware that I had. I’m also an online shopaholic, as I find that there’s nothing better than finding the perfect look or deal from the comfort of your own home. Plus: what is more exciting than receiving a package full of goodies in the mail? Um…..NOTHING! My style icons include Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Patricia Bright and Jennifer Lopez. In my spare time, you can find me blogging up a storm, watching re-runs of Sex and the City or Friends and laughing with the amazing people I’m so blessed to call my friends.

A bit about the look I’m sporting above: I got that bold, gold-embellished T-shirt dress over at Forever 21 a few years back, not realizing how hard I’d fall in love with it. My style has been settling recently into a minimalist/chic/preppy kind of style, which I’m loving because it’s so easy! Dresses like this have been my life because they’re so easy to throw on and dress down or up. I’ve also recently realized that I have been taking accessories for granted my entire life. I’m learning the beauty in them is that they are the easiest way to make any outfit better. Whether you’re stacking rings like I am, or sporting a Michael Kors watch like mine, you just can’t go wrong with a little candy! I got this fabulously versatile bag over the summer at ALDO, it was just one of my many victims of accessory obsession.

As I stated before, I am super excited for this upcoming semester. I’m predicting some seriously awesome fashion trends this year, and I hope you’re all ready to embark on this wonderful roller coaster that is college/young adult fashion! Be sure to follow me on all my social media platforms, and reach out to me if you ever have any questions, comments or concerns. ‘Til next time fashion lovers!
