STYLE GURU BIO: Taylor Ramey

January 8th, 2016 at 2:00am

Hi, Fashionistas/Fashionistos! My name is Taylor Ramey, and I’m from Columbus, Ohio! I am a senior at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio (not to be confused with the University of Miami in Florida), with a major in strategic communication, which is basically public relations, and a minor in business management. Upon graduation, I hope to be working in areas concerning communications, merchandising, marketing and/or retail. This is my first semester with CollegeFashionista, and I am extremely excited to be a part of this! I cannot wait to share my future articles with you all.

As Kate Spade has said, “Playing dress-up begins at age five and never truly ends.” I completely agree with this, and for me it rings true. Growing up, I was always into makeup and fashion, constantly playing dress-up with my little sisters. As I’ve gotten older, I continue to experiment with my hair and makeup, and I am forever trend watching. Of course I love to shop, and I mean you can never have too many clothes. My style has changed over the years, but I always keep some classics, from a little black dress, to brown boots, to a number of scarves and more. I love to shop at a variety of places; from Nordstrom to thrift stores, because you can always mix and match, and you never know what amazing pieces you could find. I believe that our styles change and evolve, but we always keep the best parts.

My style can be described as laid back and comfortable, but I also love to spice things up. I would say that my style is somewhere between hipster and preppy, but I’m always searching for new fashion tips. At the moment (for the holidays), I am enjoying dark nail polish (which I need to do a better job of keeping flawless), vests, red or black dresses, cross-body bags and layered jewelry. These holidays, I look forward to spending time with my family and friends, of course, my pets and forever watching Modern Family. Fall and winter are my favorite months for fashion, because we can layer and accessorize, and although I wish it would snow, I’m always up for some good weather.

Thank you all for reading my first post on CollegeFashionista, and I look forward to showing you all what fashion trends are happening in my little college town this semester!
