Hello Fashionistas! My name is Taryn Duran and I am currently a junior at High Point University in North Carolina. I am majoring in visual merchandising design with a minor in marketing. I was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. I am a New England girl at heart who moved down south for college. I am a fast-talking, coffee-obsessed fashion addict. You will never find me without a coffee in hand.

“Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable. Style is more about being yourself,” said the great Oscar de la Renta. I have always loved fashion and have been following the trends and new designs each season. Fashion week is always a “holiday” in my mind and is a highly anticipated event. I am always inspired by the runway shows and try to create my own look based on the designs. My style reflects who I am and what I like. I like to experiment with new styles and take risks, but try to still reflect my personality accurately.

My outfit in this post shows my current obsession with leather, fringe and lace. I love the all-black look and most days will be wearing at least one black piece. My style has transitioned into a mix of preppy and boho chic. I do not necessarily like to wear just one look completely, so I love to mix and match different styles. I decided to mix my leather skirt with a pair of suede booties to add the detail of fringe to the mix. Mixing different materials is always risky, but is the best when you can pull it off!

I am looking forward to this semester and sharing my style ideas with you all!

In the words of Taylor Swift, “’Cause we never go out of style. We never go out of style.”
