Yes, yes, yes, Christmas hasn’t happened quite yet, but we are already dreaming of our perfect New Year’s Eve outfits. After all, you have to start the year off on a fashionable note, right? While it might feel overwhelming to organize various holiday outfits this December, we’re here to help simplify your NYE celebration. We called out to our College Fashionista Instagram followers to see what they have ready to go for the big Times Square Ball Drop and celebratory popping of the bubbly.

Of course, you have to make sure your accessories are ready to go, too! No matter if you’re wearing a glitzy, glamorous, sparkling gown or wearing a comfy sweater dress, bows are the absolute way to go. We are so utterly obsessed with adding bows to our hair in braids à la Sabrina Carpenter, putting ribbon in our knit sweaters, and trying our hand at the TikTok-viral bow eyeliner. If you need a little New Year’s Eve fashion inspiration, CF has your back with some outfit ideas. P.S. Be ready for the new year with out 2024 Winter Trend Report.

College Fashionista’s editors write about products we love and think you’ll love too. College Fashionista has affiliate partnerships, so we get a share of the revenue from your purchase. All products are in stock and all prices are accurate as of publication.

Sequins, Duh!

Of course you have to end 2023 on a shimmering note. This is a fabulous time to wear your Eras Tour outfit again if you donned a fully-sequined piece. Instagram users @valetinaz918, @gaby.raouf, and @larkynparry all described prepping sparkly, shiny, fabulous fits for NYE. From sequined crop tops (Lulu’s, $45) to fully bedazzled dresses (Selfie Leslie, $89.99), you can light up the room with your shiny NYE look. We definitely love this Barbiecore pink sequined Georgie Pants ($98) from REVOLVE.

Metals, Metals, Metals

Metallic skirts, pants, dresses, and jumpsuits are all the “it girls” of the winter season. CF follower @nicki_pierre is rocking a black body suit with a silver skirt with black go-go boots. Frankly, NYE is definitely a go-go boot situation! User @roseysera is also going full metallic dress mode. Currently, we are obsessed with this sleek silver high-rise mini skirt (Lulu’s, $42) which can be dressed up, dressed down, and worn year-round.

Blazer Dress Moments

CF follower @tasfialeya is spending New Year’s Eve wearing a blazer dress paired with sparkling earrings and boots. The blazer dress is truly an endlessly chic outfit that can be transformed from professional daywear to a night-on-the-town look. We are obsessed with this one-sleeve black dress (Macy’s, $178) and this pearl-detailed dress (New York & Company, $150).

CF’s @isa.supelano is wearing red “to welcome love [and] confidence in the next year!” There’s nothing like starting a new year of life in an eye-catching, confidence-boosting shade. Also, @alemorale.s shared that they will wear green “for abundance.” You can also opt to wear white to signify a fresh start or blue to invite peace and tranquility into 2024.
