STYLE GURU BIO: Stephanie Clark

Hey friends! My name is Stephanie Clark. I have just finished my first year as a Business student at Loyola Marymount University. I spend most of my time exploring cool new places to eat, shopping in Manhattan Beach, tanning with my sorority sisters and, of course, studying (my parents might be reading this)! This will be my first semester interning for CollegeFashionista and I am so excited to be spending my summer updating you on all  of my favorite trends.

I was born and raised in Northern California, so moving down to Los Angeles was a bit of a culture shock to me. You would think that staying in the same state that I have always lived in would be a piece of cake, but it was far from it—the two halves are like two different worlds! Having lived in Los Angeles for about nine months now, I am absolutely loving it. The forever trendy L.A. fashion has definitely taken over my lifestyle and more importantly, my wardrobe.

Though I’ve always sort of had an eye for fashion, I began really immersing myself in it in my early teens. I spent a lot of time locked up in my room, flipping through the latest editions of Teen Vogue and having mini fashion shows while the Jonas Brothers played in the background (hello, party of one!!). Once I began blogging, fashion just became a part of my every day life and I can’t imagine who I would be without it.

Experiencing both life in the Bay Area and life in Los Angeles, as well as traveling the world, has allowed me to see so many different ways of life and how fashion has a different flair to it everywhere I go. All of these different cultures have inspired me to find my own personal style, which combines a lot of my favorite trends from around the world. I would describe my personal style as your modern-day “girl next door”—trendy and sweet.

Since summer is just coming around the corner, the weather isn’t as hot as I would like it to be, so jeans are still a must. A nice tank top and jeans are my pre-summer heat go-to items. My favorite pieces at the moment are my turquoise rings, silver statement necklace, leather cross-body bag, cutout booties and ripped jeans. The accessories add a little spice to this look and I constantly find myself mixing and matching all of these pieces, or similar ones, with almost every outfit. I hope you’ve enjoyed my first post on CollegeFashionista and hope you’ll continue with me on this summer adventure!
