Hey everyone! My name is Scout, and I’m a sophomore at the University of Missouri. I grew up in Kansas City, but New York City has my heart. I have loved fashion since I was a little girl, but it wasn’t until my junior year of high school that I began to dream of it as a career. I am currently studying journalism and textile and apparel management with the aspiration of a career in fashion PR or magazine writing.
I like to describe my style as simplistic and relaxed with a bit of edge. I always gravitate toward neutral colors—I can’t help it! Every time I go shopping I end up finding new, amazing neutrals that I just can’t resist.
This outfit exemplifies my style because it is composed of super simple pieces—denim, booties, simple jewelry, and a beautiful lip color—that combined make a great outfit. I’m a huge fan of denim (it’s so versatile!)—jeans, jackets, blouses, you name it—if it’s denim, I love it. This denim jacket is an all-time favorite of mine because of the beautiful wash and perfect length. Another shining component of this outfit are the booties, which I particularly love because of the zipper detailing along the top line of the shoe that takes them from standard to exciting. For me, jewelry is all about simplicity and that’s why I love chokers—they instantly add edginess to an outfit without any effort. This simple, put-together-yet-edgy look is exactly what my style is all about.
My style is always changing and evolving. I have learned to take more risks with fashion as I have gotten older, and I hope that this blog will inspire me to be more spontaneous with my outfits (and to maybe add more color to my wardrobe). I’m so excited to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista this semester, and can’t wait for the fashion-filled months ahead!
