STYLE GURU BIO: Sarah Smyth

Hello Fashioinistas and Fashionistos! My name is Sarah Smyth and I currently am a sophomore at West Chester University. I am majoring in marketing and minoring in business geographics and information systems. My hope in becoming apart of CollegeFashionista is to show everyone my love for fashion and also the current styles roaming around WCU’s campus!

My love for clothing began years ago when I started watching Project Runway. The idea of seeing a piece of fabric turn into an amazing outfit that people would soon want to wear really sparked my interest into the fashion world. After I found out I was not gifted with the drawing or sowing skills that are necessary to design, I started getting inspired by stylists like Elizabeth Stewart and Rachel Zoe. That inspiration started my long time love of styling not only myself but also my friends. I am the girl that hears about an event and instead of worrying about a date or where it is, I have already mentally mapped out mine along with my fellow roomies closets for the perfect outfit. I truly believe that if you feel confident in what you’re wearing it shows through in your personality.

My dream job is to become a buyer for a clothing company and travel the world. I love layering, heels, anything with pockets, and not to mention neutrals! I would say my style is the love child of Urban Outfitters and J.Crew. I mostly find myself gravitating towards the boho clothing and the preppy accessories. The one thing I can not go anywhere without is my Longchamp bag. It is truly a gift from above that can hold anything and everything.

Overall, I live my life to the tone of my favorite fashionista, Sarah Jessica Parker (a.k.a. Carrie Bradshaw), who once said “I like my money right where I can see it… hanging in my closet.”

I am excited to be apart of this experience and I hope you guys enjoy my upcoming articles and hopefully get a little inspiration yourselves!
