STYLE GURU BIO: Samia Rafeh

Hi there! My name is Samia Rafeh. Feel free to ask me how to pronounce my name and to practice rolling your r’s when saying my last name. I was born and raised in Venezuela, a country where it’s either sunny or rainy, and it’s often associated with beauty contests and loud carefree people. Today, I am studying advertising management and media at Michigan State University. Now, I have four different seasons to play mix and match with my wardrobe.

I am a strategic problem solver as well as a creative thinker. I believe in the combination of art and science to create human experiences. I live for the excitement of creating something from scratch. I am a big fan of the cliché quote: “Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”, which is why I strive to pursue a career in the fashion industry.

I enjoy having my own style. I am confident about what I like and what I don’t. I don’t follow every new trend but carefully choose what I know that will work best for me. I also enjoy exploring new styles and spicing it up sometimes. I love to go to the beach, coffee shops, brunch, and parties. I love to find the perfect outfits for all of them.

In this look, black is combined with flowers and colors. I grabbed a long asymmetrical shirt and combined it with black shorts, so it looked like a sundress. I also added a yellow suede jacket and black wedges, which makes it perfect to wear during a chilly day or nighttime. It’s the perfect go-to for a day that could take an unexpected turn!

I’m looking forward to showing some of the many rad outfits that Spartans rock around around campus!
