Hey there everyone! My name is Rick Garcia and I’m a third-year public relations major at the University of Florida. I know, what a rarity, a male Style Guru. Well, I’m here to show that style and fashion knows no gender. This is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I can’t wait to showcase some diverse and dynamic style.
I’ve always been fascinated by how fashion and style can be so unique to a person and how it can allow someone to express themselves and their personalities. That’s why I’m so excited to really showcase some unique looks that go beyond your average, cookie-cutter style.
If I had to sum up my own personal style in a few words, I guess I would say my style tends to be a little minimalistic with a bit of an edge. The outfit I’m wearing in the photos is a good glimpse at my style and I’m wearing a lot of my favorite pieces. I love a good pair of boots and I can usually find an excuse to wear an outfit that calls for them. One of my favorite pairs is this pair from Day Five. Another wardrobe staple of mine is my favorite pair of black skinny jeans from H&M because they go with just about anything and can add an extra edge and style to any look. Finally, I don’t go anywhere without my favorite watch from Michael Kors.
You can imagine how hard it can be to pull off black skinny jeans and boots in the constantly boiling Florida temperatures, but some days I feel extra daring and have to go for it.
A lot of my fellow Gators must think that too, because the University of Florida always has some great styles, and I can’t wait to show you. Stay tuned!
