No little girl at the age of five wants to be a fashion designer, fashion merchandiser or even a fashion stylist. Instead, they have unrealistic expectations about their life career possibilities; their wish is to become a princess, an actress or a singer. Fashion has been a crucial component of my life ever since I was a little girl. I remember the feeling of excitement and a sense of accomplishment the first time my mother let me pick out an outfit for myself. This positive experience and feeling of achievement made me realize that I might have a natural talent for fashion. Since this epiphany, several key experiences I have had with fashion have led me to realize that this is what I would like to pursue for the rest of my life. These experiences include working in retail, having a personal style blog and making most of my clothes.
Certain people take fashion way too seriously, when it shouldn’t be that way. In my opinion, fashion is not about wearing expensive name brands (although it’d be nice every now and then), it’s about expressing yourself without having to say a word. It’s a form of art, therefore, you should have FUN.
So here I am, a Dominican girl walking the streets of the best city in the world, New York City, and pursuing my dreams at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
For this post, I decided to go with what I like to call “my weekend uniform”:  Zara Boyfriend Jeans, Zara Cropped Top, ALDO wallet and ALDO heels. It’s a simple outfit but oh so chic!
