STYLE GURU BIO: Rachel Zuckerberg

Hey, everyone! I’m so glad to be back for my second semester as a Style Guru! I go to Columbia College Chicago as a fashion business major and journalism minor. It was my first semester of college, so there were a lot of exciting changes in my life. I moved to downtown Chicago from the Detroit suburbs, met new people, and got to study my passions in a creative environment. Having CollegeFashionista with me during my first semester was such a positive experience, and I even got to participate in the CollegeFashionista x Ulta Beauty partnership.

For those who don’t know me, I love all things fashion and beauty. I am a makeup junkie and I even started exploring makeup artistry. I was the makeup artist for a couple Columbia student films and did makeup for photoshoots and dance performances. Some of my favorite cosmetic brands are Tarte Cosmetics, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, and Too Faced Cosmetics. As a winged eyeliner enthusiast, I can not live without the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner.

Other than fashion and cosmetics, I love dancing (I’m on Columbia’s hip hop team), concerts/music festivals, photography, and traveling. Traveling has been such a big influence in my life. I love change and I can’t stand staying in one place for too long, so I am willing to travel anywhere and everywhere. Whether it’s a weekend road trip or a trip across the world to Israel, I really appreciate experiencing new cultures and environments.

I wouldn’t say that I have a signature style, it really depends on the day and my mood (and on the crazy Midwest weather). But that is what I love about fashion and beauty, it is constantly changing and evolving. It gives me the ability to express myself in a new way every single day. I am constantly changing my mind about everything, so fashion really complements that trait about me. However, anyone who knows me knows that the color burgundy is my staple! Summer or winter, you’ll see me wearing something burgundy.

In this look, I wore an ’80s vintage sweater that I found from Ragstock with a lace bralette, dark wash jeans from American Eagle Outfitters, metallic green Doc Marten’s, a wrap bracelet from Victoria Emerson, and a double wrap Pandora bracelet that I wear as a choker. This has been one of my favorite outfits this fall/winter.

I can’t wait to see where my second semester of college takes me, and all of the new people and opportunities that come my way. I’m excited to share more articles with everyone soon, thanks for reading!
