Yo girl is a global development studies major at Queen’s University (Canada); a proud Canadian who loves television, music, food, politics and fashion.
Some fun facts about lil old me! H&M is basically my whole entire life and I’ve never felt such a strong connection to a store. My guilty pleasure is watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians every Sunday night. I still take my multivitamins in gummy form. I absolutely love karaoke, and my go-to song is always “…Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears, and yes, I definitely see Britney as a fashion icon. I love performing even though my singing voice is totally meant for the shower. Relationships are super important to me; one of the most valuable relationships I have is the one with my Netflix account.
I love people who can make me laugh, and I love being able to make people laugh. A short term goal I have for this rad semester is to perform stand-up at a comedy club somewhere. Why? Well, because, why not? I love taking risks, especially when it comes to fashion.
The highlight of my postsecondary education so far has been meeting the Canadian Prime Minister for a millisecond and managing to get a blurry selfie with him. Selfies are wonderful. I am constantly posting content on Instagram: photos related to fashion, activism, food and of course, the occasional selfie.
I love seeing students and youth making a difference in the world through their various passions and I hope to use CollegeFashionista as an outlet to express my interest in sustainable fashion. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the #GuruGang is up to!
