STYLE GURU BIO: Paige Simon

Hello my beautiful readers! My name is Paige and I am senior History major at the University of South Carolina. I am here to talk about all things involving the college fashion world we know today. You know, how can I get that fringe suede bag and still be able to eat? Because we all know that trying to make that paycheck last till the next is a job on its own. Fashion has always been a topic of conversation for me so lets get talking!

If I had to describe myself in one word, I would say adventurous (sometimes not my best characteristic, considering I got myself stranded in London one time). I have been fortunate enough to grow up in Canada, eat my way through Europe and make it out of Australia (alive). Traveling has definitely shaped who I am and, ultimately, my personal style today. I always get a kick out of how much my style has changed over the years. Thank goodness I came to my senses about those heinous popped collared polos I use to wear.

Luckily today, I am constantly inspired by my surroundings, whether that is the people I encounter or fashion articles I read. I love to have fun with fashion and experiment with new trends. I am always adding interesting and unique pieces to my wardrobe that I can pair with staples such as my favorite leather jacket from Zara or a great pair of tailored trousers. The great thing about fashion is that you can make it your own! I have to be honest, it took me awhile to find a style that I felt comfortable in, but I think that comes with really knowing yourself. Sometimes it is just about trial and error and finding something that is your cup of tea. My style varies by day anywhere from a teen boy pop band to a Jenner sister. I love pairing boyfriend jeans with a loose fitting T-shirt when on the go during my busy schedule. I am always drawn with some sort of powerful hypnotism to rompers. The amount I have in my closet could clothe me for a month on their own. I also LOVE big scarves in the winter with awesome heeled ankle boots. I always feel like I can accomplish anything the day (yes, even Mondays) throw at me when I look and feel my best!

Here are some of my favorite beauty gurus: Carli Bybel, Barbara The Persian Babe, Lauren Curtis and, of course, CollegeFashionista. I also have my own makeup and beauty blog that I co-write with a dear friend called The Broken Compact.

I am excited to share all the diverse styles I find around the USC campus this fall. I know I’ll love what I find! Love you all!
