STYLE GURU BIO: Miranda Durner

Hey there everyone! My name is Miranda Durner, and I am super excited to start my second semester as a Style Guru. I am about to start my second semester of my junior year as a fashion merchandising major at Stevenson University. I am looking forward to learning and gaining more experience in fashion writing and publishing.

During my first semester, I loved being a Style Guru, and I obviously still do. It gives me an opportunity to write about fashion, all while gaining real world experience. I love writing and experimenting with different style trends.

My style is a mix of everything. I tend to lean toward casual and trendy, but I have no problem incorporating a hint of edge or girly-ness into my outfits. This outfit is a great example of my everyday style. The chunky choker sweater is the perfect combination of trendy and cozy. The choker accent on the sweater is something that it very popular right now. The color is my favorite! It’s feminine and subtle without disrupting the edginess of the piece. The zipper accents on the sleeves definitely add some edge to the outfit. Pairing it with a good pair of black jeans and cute heels is the perfect way to complement the sweater without drawing attention away from it. I love a good, staple pair of black jeans. They are so versatile and can basically be worn with anything. They are my go-to bottoms. These shoes are perfect for a day out because they have a cute heel, but they aren’t too high. This means your feet won’t hurt, but you don’t have to sacrifice style for comfort. The gold accent of the zippers tie the entire look together.

I love winter weather because I can finally take out all of my cute sweaters. I love being stylish, but I never want to give up being warm for being cute. I’m glad that trendy sweaters are so popular right now. This sweater absolutely incorporates my love for cozy sweaters and my affinity for trendy and gold accents. The versatility of the pieces in this look are why this outfit is a staple in my closet.
