STYLE GURU BIO: Margot Odell

Hi everyone, I am Margot. I am so excited to be joining the CollegeFashionista team this semester. I am freshman at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania and am originally from San Francisco, California. Currently my major is undeclared, but I recently applied to Bucknell’s School of Management and am hoping to major in Marketing and Design.

Like many of the other Style Gurus, my love of fashion began from an early age. My mother introduced me to fashion through her bountiful wardrobe that I would constantly borrow from, but my father introduced me to a way to put my own spin on the latest trends by introducing me to all things vintage. As a little girl, my father and I would spend hours hunting around thrift shops all over Northern California and I took those vintage finds and incorporated them into my outfits. These trips with my father are some of my fondest memories from my childhood. Since then, I have not been able to get enough of fashion. I have co-founded and created two different blogs, worked on the Nordstrom Fashion Board and created my own non-profit jewelry company benefitting public schools in Kenya, where I spent a three weeks teaching a few summers ago.

One of my favorite things about fashion is its ability to change who you are. I never categorize my style under one type. The outfit I choose for each day depends on my mood and whichever friends closet I am stealing pieces from. In my free time I love running, spending time in the city, organizing and putting outfits together for others and myself. I am looking forward to discovering Fashionistas/os around Bucknell’s Campus!
