STYLE GURU BIO: Maggie Dillard

Hello my fellow Fashionistas/os! I’m returning for my third semester, and needless to say, I’ve absolutely loved every second of being a Style Guru. I’m a senior at the University of West Georgia where I’m an English major and mass communications minor with a concentration in journalism. When I’m not writing a paper, a blog post, a blurb for a magazine, a newspaper article, an annotated bibliography for a research paper or any other thing writing related, you can catch me drinking coffee, on a road trip, snapchatting my friends, feeding my obsessive online shopping addiction or reading my favorite fashion magazines while pretending to be a real fashion editor. As you might have already figured out by now, two of my favorite things this world has to offer are writing and fashion.

Flipping the pages of Vogue is medicine to my soul and tends to inspire me to no end. A huge part of what I do and how I live is directly affected by the fashion that surrounds me, whether I discover it in my Instagram feed from other fashion bloggers, on my favorite models in a magazine or adorning the bodies of my peers on my college campus. CollegeFashionista has given me the chance to combine my passion for both writing and fashion. Being a Style Guru feels like I’m living out my dream job.

My own personal style changes by the day and my mood. Some days I find myself leaning towards an all black, sleek and chic Kardashian-Jenner ensemble, while other days I feel as if I can’t get enough of an eye-catching, colorful print or pattern. Fall is my preferred season to dress for because one of my favorite fashion trends is layering. For this look, I layered a plain black tank with a sleeveless cargo vest to create a simple (but trendy) on-the-go look. Add a pair of classic ripped jeans, a block-heel sandal with a little fringe and a pretty braid with a few curls and your look is ready for a brunch date or a girl’s day out!

I’m so excited to be back in action to report on all the most fab trends of my favorite season. Check back here soon for more fashionably chic fall styles. In the meantime, stay #RAD, fashion fanatics!
