STYLE GURU BIO: Lyndsay Solomon

Hello my fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Lyndsay Solomon and I am a junior at James Madison University. I’m a Communication Studies major with a focus in Public Relations and an Educational Media minor. I am from the Jersey Shore and am a beach girl at heart. My school is located in the Shenandoah Valley (the mountains) in Virginia. I like to consider myself a pretty lucky gal for having the best of both worlds: the beach and the mountains.

Before I get serious, here are some fun facts about myself: I have an unhealthy obsession with Mexican food, guacamole and pickles. I have a turtle named Shelly (cut me some slack, I named her when I was six years old). And yes, she has her own Facebook page. I love to travel and have been to: Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Croatia, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Israel and Greece. My next big getaway will be my study abroad with Semester at Sea for spring 2016 where I’ll be heading to Asia, South Africa and Europe. My guilty pleasure is Dance Moms and my favorite store to shop at is Urban Outfitters.

So now it’s time to cut to the chase. Fashion has been an interest of mine since I was little girl. I remember my mom used to buy paper fashion designer kits for me at the local craft store and I would sit for hours while letting my imagination run wild. I then would attempt to play dress up with the outfits I created. I would/still do when I have spare time watch episodes of Project Runway and America’s Next Top Model.

Fast-forwarding 10 years, I realized although I adore fashion, becoming a fashion designer just isn’t in the cards for me. Instead, I have found a love for fashion and lifestyle blogging, along with photography. I find my inspiration for outfit combinations while blogging.

Regarding my sense of style, I would mainly describe it as bohemian/beachy. Although I naturally tend to dress like this because of where I’m from, there are random days where I will dress girly, laid back, sophisticated, grunge, classy or anything else that comes to mind. The possibilities are almost endless for me, as long as I can envision them beforehand.

Lastly, I want to share my outfit with everyone. I chose something that truly represented who I am, so I stuck with my beach-girl vibe. I paired this TOBI tribal-printed maxi dress with tan sandals from Marshalls, Alex and Ani bangles and a straw fedora I found in my mom’s closet! Lastly, I finished my look off with Blanc colored nail polish by Essie.

So enough about me, I’ll let you explore the rest through my pictures and upcoming blog posts. Let’s get this fall fun started!
