My name is Kiara Bass and I am a graduating senior Public Relations major and Sociology minor at Hampton University. I joined the CollegeFashionista team this summer for 2014 and wrote for the WHAT TO WEAR category. I continued as a Style Guru Intern this past fall semester. Now that it is my last semester I am ecstatic about reporting on the trends this winter/spring, but will be sad to have graduated from the experience that is CollegeFashionista. CollegeFashionista has taught me to shape my writing skills around a subject I love…fashion.

I have always had a strong interest in fashion. From playing dress up at a young age with my grandmother’s clothes to flipping through the pages of Teen Vogue in middle school, fashion has always been a love of mine. I wanted to become a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista because Hampton University exposed me to the personal style of so many students worthy of attention. When I stepped foot on Hampton University’s campus as a freshman in 2011, I was truly inspired and a bit intimidated by everyone’s sense of style. As I experimented with different trends, some working for me and others not so much, I developed a personal style that I feel comfortable in and love.

With graduation approaching in May and my CollegeFashionista career coming to a close I am excited about pursing a career in fashion, beauty and healthcare PR. I am hoping that these goals come to fruition once I cross the stage and have my degree on May 10, 2015.

I will forever be thankful for the experience that is CollegeFashionista, especially the relaunch made this past fall. Thanks to the relaunch, CollegeFashionista is bigger and better than ever before. I am proud to be a part of this amazing company during this time!
