STYLE GURU BIO: Keionda Queeley

Hello, my name is Keionda Queeley and I am currently a senior at Buffalo State College, majoring in communication studies and a minor in creative studies. I hope to go into the public relations field. I have known about CollegeFashionista for years now and it’s exciting to know that I am going to be a part of this vibrant, young fashion community!

I discovered fashion at the age of 12 after watching a fashion show on television during NY Fashion Week. From that moment on, I have been hooked on fashion and the different aspects of the industry. I didn’t really consider fashion as a serious career path and I’m glad I did because it’s lead me to some pretty good memories.

After my freshman year of college, I interned at a men’s streetwear line, Control Sector, and I was able to go to our presentation at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week and see firsthand the ins and outs of a young company. Seeing the hard work that a brand puts into its art made me appreciate this industry even more. The next summer, I interned for fashion photographer Udo Spreitzenbarth and, during that internship, was able to learn more about events management and photography.

My style is determined by how I feel that day. It has definitely changed over the years and is only getting better. I express myself through clothes and makeup and it helps me feel confident throughout the day. This outfit was casual and quirky because of the Bart Simpson skirt, which is a great conversation starter! I had to give a nod to Bart’s skater style by wearing Vans Sk8-H’s on my feet.

I hope to get to know other Style Gurus and gain a memorable experience for my senior year.
