For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a love for fashion. Whether it was wearing my mother’s heels around the house or sewing colorful patches onto my favorite, but worn out, jeans, I always found myself playing dress up or seamstress in one way or another.
Not much has changed over the years, and I’m beyond excited to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista this summer!
I’m currently a student at Ohio University, double majoring in journalism and Spanish. As a writer and editor for a university fashion publication, I am able to combine my affinity for fashion and writing while working with some amazing people, and CollegeFashionista is another wonderful opportunity for me to do just that! Hopefully, someday after I graduate, I’ll be able to continue writing for a fashion magazine and doing what I truly love.
Although I can’t pinpoint a specific instance where my interest in fashion began, I can attribute my interest to my mother and her personal style. We’ve been shopping buddies since day one, literally! I’ve always admired her effortless and classy personal style, and I still find myself trying to emulate it in some ways. She has always served as a fashion inspiration to me, but I find ways to put my own spin on things.
That being said, my personal style varies from day-to-day, but I like to keep things minimalistic. I tend to gravitate toward simple, versatile pieces that can be paired with almost anything. Denim jackets are a staple in my wardrobe, and my friends tease me about wearing one almost every single day. They’re perfect to throw on over a T-shirt dress on a cool summer night.
For this look, I chose to elevate my casual dress and jacket combo with some peep toe booties and a leather cross-body bag. I opted for simple accessories, wearing my favorite rings and watch to complete my outfit.
I look forward to the rest of the adventures and style that this summer holds, and I can’t wait to share it with you all!
