Hey guys! My name is Kalina Pawlowicz and I’m a sophomore at The University of Pittsburgh studying Business with a focus in Marketing. This is my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and my first semester being a Style Guru on campus. After spending my summer at home in Westchester, New York, it’s great to be back on campus! Being a Style Guru on campus as opposed to being at home will definitely be a different experience for me. I’ll find Fashionista’s wherever I go on campus, whether walking to class, going to the library or just going out to eat with friends.
There are tons of new students here at Pitt and lots of students I haven’t had the chance to meet yet! With over 18,000 undergraduates on Pitt’s main campus, the fashion tastes are varied and each student brings their own flare and personal stylistic aesthetic to the community. Pittsburgh is a diverse city and with five other major universities in the area, I look forward to discovering Fashionista’s from all walks of life and backgrounds, photographing them and documenting their unique styles.
I wouldn’t say that I have a set defined style, but I tend to wear a lot of neutral colors like navy, black, white, gray, tan, green and brown. I like to wear simpler clothing items with bold accessories, especially gold jewelry. Some trends I am anticipating this fall fashion season include shades of red and royal blue, triple bar necklaces and suede. The classic fall staples of riding boots, combat boots and dark green jackets are also to be expected.
I’m super excited to be back on campus and can’t wait to see what the Fashionista’s of Pittsburgh have to offer!
