STYLE GURU BIO: Julia Levin

Contrary to popular opinion, fall is not my favorite season and I’ll tell you why.  I’ve only just gotten used to exposing more of my skin only to have to cover it all back up again.  I’ve spent months mentally preparing myself to bare my legs in public, not to mention what I’ve gone through for swimsuit season.  While others become excited about “sweater weather,” I mourn the loss of summer and all the dreamy looks that accompanied it.  The unpredictable temperatures surprise me in the most unpleasant ways and usually leaves me awkwardly sweating into my poor denim jacket that did nothing to deserve such mistreatment.

Who is this autumn-bashing monster you may ask? My name is Julia Levin and I’m a rising junior at the University of Illinois. Surprise, people: I transferred schools!  After many painful accounting, economics and computer technology courses, I decided to forgo my business major and pursue a degree in advertising.  I’m trading in my balance sheets and databases for… whatever advertisers use.  I’ll keep you posted.

Anyway, new school, same clothing-obsessed me.  This is my third semester with CollegeFashionista and my first time blogging in the fall semester! My short-term goal is to cram as much summer fashion into the next few weeks as possible.  This might be self-explanatory from the looks of my vibrant parrot patterned pants which, unfortunately, won’t be appropriated once fall is in full swing.  I may also shed a tear whilst stowing away my pride and joy–my new white platforms–but I will quickly be comforted knowing some thigh-high boots can soon take their place.

I hope this semester is filled with more pairs of crazy pants, less sweating and many fashion risks and rewards. Maybe throw in some good grades too. New schools and even new seasons are scary, but give me a couple days to complain and before long I’ll probably fall in love with both.
