STYLE GURU BIO: Jenny Huang

Hey there, I’m Jenny Huang and I’m a freshman studying at Rutgers University Honors College. I’m actually looking to study statistics, but fashion has been an integral part of who I am ever since high school started and I realized there was way more to fashion than matching my shorts and shirt in monochrome tones. Since then, my style has fluctuated over the years and still does to this day, from an all-Adidas outfit one day to a peacoat and turtleneck duo the next day.

I am a firm believer that individuality is key. Throughout high school, I was always willing to try out different styles, despite the opinions of the people around me. Part of the reason why I developed into a more confident human being was realizing that other people’s opinions on my style did not matter. I wore caps in school when no one else did, platform boots and three-inch heels, ’80s jackets and long button-downs stolen from my dad. Despite everyone’s constant teasing, I wore what I want to and felt good in it which mattered to me more than anything.

The look I am wearing is what I would wear on any typical day. I tucked a striped turtleneck from the Hollister Must-Haves collection into dark gray mom jeans. My platform boots are from Forever 21, and my straight cut wool coat is from H&M.

I hope everyone enjoys this easy and comfortable look for any winter day. To get updates on my posts, make sure to follow me on social media!
