STYLE GURU BIO: Jennifer Lam

Hi humans! My name is Jenn, and I am currently a senior at Drexel University. I am a student in the Secondary Education undergraduate program with a concentration in English, as well as the Creativity and Innovation graduate program here. I’ll be graduating this upcoming spring 2016 (fingers crossed!).

While my style has definitely changed throughout my college career, in the past year or so, I would say that my wardrobe has somehow reduced itself to a closet of various shades gray, white and black (and the occasional striped) basics. If I had to choose, my life uniform would be a gray knit cardigan, black A-line sleeveless dress, metal concho belt, knee-high socks and pointy toed flats.

Recently—well, if you can call the last year recent—I have harbored a low key obsession with all things one piece including jumpsuits, rompers and overalls. Today I am wearing a denim overall from Primark as my main piece. The beauty of this piece is that I can throw it over almost any shirt and make it a complete outfit. Whether it is tight fitting, flowy, cropped or regular length, the overall creates this effortless casual summer look. Underneath, I have on an off the shoulder American Apparel striped top that is one of my favorite items in my closet. Because of its cropped length, it allows for some breathing room to keep cool in this not so nice Philadelphia heat. I’m wearing a pair of black elastic sandals that, from the looks of my horrible sandal tan, I have been living in all summer. My only accessory is a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses from Forever 21, which serve to shield my eyes from the sun and also from making eye contact with people.

Talking about myself is a bit strange for me, but welcome to my little corner of the Internet universe for the next three months courtesy of CollegeFashionista. Hope you enjoy!
